Fallujah University continues to implement the activities of the psychological support program for cancer patients
Fallujah University continues to implement the activities of the psychological support program for cancer patients, which it recently launched, with the aim of providing psychological and moral support to patients receiving treatment at Fallujah Teaching Hospital.
The program includes organizing periodic visits to Fallujah Teaching Hospital and providing motivational sessions to raise the morale of patients, in order to enhance their ability to resist the disease.
In this context, the head of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Department at the university, Assistant Professor Naji Ajami Hamid, stressed the need to integrate humanitarian efforts that contribute to helping patients confront this cursed disease.
Dr. Naji Ajami Hamid explained that some patients may surrender to the disease due to their lack of awareness that every disease has a cure, indicating that one of the most important steps in treatment is to maximize hope in God Almighty and supplicate to Him, followed by psychological support from the surrounding community by encouraging them, instilling hope in their souls and giving them good news of recovery, in addition to using medical drugs.
For her part, Assistant Professor Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal noted the importance of psychological support for patients in strengthening their immune system, and not surrendering or collapsing in the face of the disease.
For her part, Assistant Professor Lama Sobhi Salem stressed that psychological and social support helps cancer patients deal with psychological stress and reduce levels of depression, anxiety and symptoms associated with the disease, indicating that cancer patients need feelings of external support from the family and everyone in their circle to help and encourage them during the stages of treatment.
This program comes within the framework of the social responsibility adopted by the University of Fallujah, through which it seeks to enhance community cohesion and build bridges of communication with various segments of society.
